Asparagus and Eggs Asparagus and Eggs
Having a springtime gathering? Not only can this recipe be prepared in around 10 minutes, it looks beautiful and can be served as a main dish, at brunch, or as a light dinner. View the recipe here. Pair it with a light, fruity rose Rioja. Yum!

header The Minds Behind the Wines

People often wonder who “we” are here at Rioja wines, and what we do. Yes, we are lucky enough to work with Rioja wines every day, and YES, they actually pay us for this! In 2013, we will highlight two Vibrant Rioja team members. Nice to meet you, too!

Aaron Gordon Name: Aaron Gordon
Role: Rioja Regional Specialist, Northeast
What do you love about wine? It is an ever changing learning process where all of the scientific advances succumb to Mother Nature.
What’s your favorite part of working with wine? Each bottle tells a different story and each year is a new book.
It’s your last meal…what would you eat and drink? If it were my last meal, I would hope that I did not know, so I could relax and enjoy it. I would probably have a Negroni and fried oysters from Le Petite Crivette (Brooklyn). I would save my appetite for the big dinner party in the clouds.
Share your favorite cool, but random wine fact. California is the fourth-largest wine producer in the world, right after Spain!

Cassandra Bianco Name: Cassandra Bianco
Role: Media Relations + Social Media Ninja
What do you love about wine? I love learning. And I love how I am always learning something exciting about wine. Especially working for Rioja, when you represent the whole region! It’s truly an honor.
It’s your last meal…what would you eat and drink? I’m half Italian, and pasta is my life. I would eat a fresh sauce with penne pasta (Parmigiano-Reggiano is a must) with some Crianza. Dessert would be a Nutella pancake. Pancakes and pasta are almost as special as wine. Almost.
Share your favorite cool, but random wine fact. Did you know the Spanish language was born in Rioja? I think that is so cool!
