The 2nd annual Rioja Week kicked off May 2 in Chicago at the 2015 Rioja Wine & Tapas Festival. Wines from Rioja hosted Rioja Week, including tasting events, flights and food pairings, plus special discounts in restaurants and retail shops around the city. Attendees experienced some of the world’s most delicious, food-friendly wines at extraordinary values.
The Rioja Wine & Tapas Festival, held at Chicago’s historic Union Station, showcased nearly 200 vibrant wines from Rioja, ranging from Blancos to Rosados to Gran Reservas, and everything in between. To pair these wines, 30 notable American chefs gathered to create their interpretations of Rioja-inspired tapas. Guests sampled delicious hams at the jamón bar and savored some of Spain’s finest cheeses in the cheese cave while learning about this prominent wine region. Wine and food lovers enjoyed one of the best gastronomic parties of the year!
